Honda Gas Engine

(Note, this is gas as in Propane/Butane, not gas as in petrol)

This engine was purchased at a local "boot sale".  It had been running previously and when I tried it, it had a good compression.  The engine had been sitting without being used for a number of years and the seller had turned it over once a month.

Does anybody recognise the type of engine and can they point me towards a manual etc.

On trying it at home, no luck, not a hint of starting:

So, check the spark, no spark :-( ;

Remove the starter/flywheel (normally a good place to start);

Points are working, but filthy, so a small file to clean the points (emery cloth didn't work)

A spark :-) !!

Re-assemble and try again;

No compression :-(

Remove the head, piston clean, head clean, valves "carboned up" and will probably require decoking at some point;

Rotated the valves in their seats;

Re-assemble - compression :-)

Try again - no spark :-(

At this point I give up and go back to stumpy.  I intend to use this engine in my next petrol based engine - possibly a petrol electric if this is governed as I think it might be.
